A Day in the Life of a KCIS Student

The school day begins at 8am. Students can be dropped from 7.40am (or from 7am with prior consent). Everyday begins with whole school Morning Exercise, a fun fitness session to prepare students for the day, followed by individual class Circle Time or Morning Meeting.

Every day includes the following subjects: 

  • Phonics (KS1)
  • English
  • Maths

Most of the subjects below are taught as two single or one double lesson a week:

  • Library Time 
  • Science
  • History
  • Geography
  • French (KS2)
  • Music
  • ICT (Information & Communication Technology)
  • Art / Design and Technology
  • PE (Physical Education)
  • Swimming
  • Life Skills

The school day includes a 30 minute outdoor break time during the morning as well as an hour outdoor lunch time.

School finishes at 2.30pm for Key Stage 1 and 3pm for Key Stage 2, followed by optional clubs.
